The Petroleum Engineering Group was founded in 1998
with the goal of intensifying research activity in the field of petroleum
engineering. The group was founded within the Dipartimento di Georisorse
e Territorio (now Dipartimento di Ingegneria del Territorio, dell'Ambiente
e delle Geotecnologie) of the Politecnico di Torino.
Individual group members have enriched their university education
and/or professional experience by specializing in various sectors
of petroleum engineering. Their combined expertise, coordinated by
Prof. Francesca Verga, results in a well-integrated, efficient, and
productive working team.
Over the last ten years the Petroleum Engineering Group has developed
numerous theses vital to the advancement of the petroleum engineering
field. These theses were developed in the course of research projects
that ranged from theoretical studies to more applied research and
development. The Petroleum Engineering Group has provided innovative
solutions which have received extremely positive commendations upon
inspection. In fact, the team’s research has often received
official recognition for reliability and technical and scientific
excellence.
